5This guitar is beautiful and..

The ec-50 is absolutely beautiful in the silver sunburst finish. The frets are jumbo and make playing real easy. I must say that I am a beginner-intermediate. I read tons and tons of reviews on this guitar before purchasing (reviews from other sources, not amazon reviews b/c there are virtually none.) The guitar is marketed for more metal styles but, to my surprise, I found that it has a really decent clean sound as well (to my ears anyway). I don't know much about pups but I know when I hit the overdrive button this sucker screams and has a really nice heavy sound. It has a three way switch and there is NO splitting of the humbuckers (just so you know). The tuners feel solid but I can understand someone more experienced than I wanting to change them. The body fits really good against the abdomen and just feels good. The whole guitar just feels "right" when I hold it.
I wanted a guitar that could do alot of different styles of music. It didn't have to be the best at anything just passably decent. I looked at the ec-50 b/c I live in a rural area and this was all my local music shop had to offer IN MY PRICE RANGE (stressed b/c if you got the cash then obviously get something better). I plugged this into a marshall 15w basic amp and it sounded awesome, even on clean. I recommend this to anyone who is a beginner-intermediate, especially because of how fast you can finger the fretboard.

Note: It doesn't matter really what reviewers say about guitars (especially electric). At the end of the day, it is really the type of AMP you get that matters and what YOU like hearing. That said, PLUG the guitar into some amps before deciding to buy. Any guitar.
