5Best Of The Basics
By KillCookieMen
I bought one of these a few years back because... well I liked the body shape. Always have since I first started playing.
After playing it I was quite impressed. Many string-thru bodies I have played tend to have tones that I can only describe as "murky", especially if the body is either Basswood or Agathis with a bolt-on construction. (IMHO- bolt-on necks seem to me to diminish the effect of neck-wood on overall tone. YMMV) What impressed me most about this set up is how versatile the tone could be. I played a little speed-metal switching between bridge and neck, some blues with the neck pickup, then with both of them together, rolling off the volume slightly on a clean channel with a touch of reverb... I'll be honest, it's almost acoustic-like.

After a few months I stated doing pickup modifications just to get different sounds and try different pickups recommended by friends. During this process I drilled two holes and added mini-switches to coil-tap and I discovered that the flame maple "Top" is not actually a Top. It's a veneer, very thin to the point where it doesn't affect tone much. A true Top ends up being thicker. I didn't mind this too much but it does need to be mentioned seeing as they call it a "Flame-Maple Top".

Years later it has still held up. I have never had a problem with it and it is about as low-maintenance as you can get with an electric guitar. Highly recommended.

5Great Guitar
By Elias Hogan
First let me say that this is a $300 guitar, its a budget guitar. However, don't let that fool you. It has a thinner neck than Fenders but a little thicker than Jacksons but is very comfortable. If you know how to set it up it stays in tune very well though the intonation is a little off (I have been too lazy to fix it but it can be done). The neck pickup is a little mid-rangey and the bridge doesn't have quite enough gain for me but it still has a lot. Oh and the picture does this guitar no justice at all. VERY beautiful finish with the black flamed maple top. Just be careful not to over-tighten the string lock down screws or the nut lock screws or they strip out. I've replaced them so its fine now. (Got the screws at stewmac.com) anyhow it sounds like a much more expensive guitar and plays like it too so jump on it.

5Best Guitar Ever!
By Kingoh
I found a used one of these at my local guitar shop and immediately was drawn to it. The thin neck is excellent, I always had issues with grips on my other guitars but this one feels so natural to use. My string broke on stage the other day and I need a back up just in-case. None of my other guitars come close to the amazing sound and feel of this one, buying a second for spare. I definitely recommend this guitar for anyone! ...side note picture listed is wrong, the picture listed is the wrong body and doesn't have the Floyd Rose, the real guitar does. anyone curious should look at the M100FM "Cherry" - right picture different color.
